LinguaThinking works in partnership with schools to expand their modern language offerings in French and Italian, providing complete GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, and International A-Level courses online. These partnerships enable students to pursue advanced language study beyond their standard timetable, access courses not offered at their school, or study additional languages.

All lessons are delivered directly by LinguaThinking online, allowing students to integrate rigorous language study with their existing school commitments. Programmes may be delivered as individual classes or group sessions, depending on student interest, and are adapted to each student’s academic needs and learning goals.  Students can register for examinations through their schools or independently with the support of LinguaThinking.

LinguaThinking also provides practical and academic support for schools and families, including:

  • Liaising with the Head of Modern Languages regarding specific learning needs

  • Organising mock exams, coordinating external examinations, and managing special access arrangements

  • Providing detailed progress reports and parent consultations

  • Communicating predicted grades for UCAS

These partnerships ensure that students benefit from high-quality teaching, personalised mentoring, and sustained intellectual development while maintaining flexibility to balance their studies.

GCSE, IGCSE and A Level courses in French and Italian prepare students for AQA, Pearson Edexcel or Cambridge examinations, depending on requirements of the school and the student.

Supporting Native and Semi-Native Speakers

Drawing on longstanding experience teaching native speakers of French and Italian — including teaching at IB Language A (equivalent to A-Level Language and Literature) — LinguaThinking works with schools to support native and semi-native students in GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, and IB Language B programmes. These partnerships ensure that advanced learners receive high-level, personalised teaching, fostering sophisticated linguistic proficiency and, where appropriate, developing skills in analytical thinking.

Specialised support often focuses on:

  • Advanced written expression and awareness of higher-level structures

  • Phonological interference (spelling errors resulting from reliance on pronunciation)

  • Essay-writing skills

  • Developing sophisticated literary, critical, and cultural analysis
